What Is Firmrater

Firmrater is an online business performance benchmarking system designed for UK firms with a turnover from about £20,000 up to about £10 million. Unlike larger businesses, firms with a turnover of less than £6.5 million or fewer than 50 staff do not have to file detailed information at Companies House or for shareholders, making it difficult for businesses of this size to find out how they are performing compared to other similar firms.

With such little information accessible in the public domain, Firmrater fills this gap by enabling smaller and medium sized firms to compare their performance anonymously against a group of similar firms.

The Firmrater Performance Report covers financial, operational, premises and staffing performance indicators in an easy to understand format which is designed to highlight any areas where your firm could potentially improve. The report shows your firm’s position in the group for six key performance indicators and a 5-star rating for the other in-depth indicators. Each indicator shows your firm’s performance against the best, worst and average in the group.

We provide a detailed Performance Report Guide which explains what each of the indicators means, but we don’t give advice on what action you should take based on your Performance Reports. This remains entirely up to you.
