The Performance Report shows you how your business is performing against a group of similar firms in the UK. It gives you the clues you need to identify areas where you could improve the profitability, efficiency and value of your firm. It also shows your firm’s strengths, giving you positive confirmation about the aspects of your business which are already performing well.

As you continue to develop your firm, you can update your business information and run the Performance Report as often as you like to track the impact of changes that you make.

The objective is to provide you with the information that you need to help you run your business as effectively as you can. Because every business has different strengths and priorities it’s not essential to try to be near the top of all the performance ratings. A business will normally be above average in some areas, in line with the group for others and below average for a few. The key is to strike the right balance for your business and secure its long-term success even if that means some ratings are below average. Many ratings are inter-connected, so having a high score in one means that your firm may be low in another as it is not possible to have high ratings for every indicator.
